The Day After

Well, it seems I have calmed down considerably after yesterday’s tirade; however, I am not “over” it by any stretch of the imagination.  Understandably, I, as well as the Chargers and the rest of their fans, were highly upset after the loss, especially after the turnovers from a tough Patriot offense, but the Chargers couldn’t capitalize upon them, settling for too many field goals, although I am glad Nate Kaeding didn’t miss any.

Unfortunately, the Giants upset the Packers, so now I am faced with the insurmountable dilemma of rooting for a team I, frankly, hate or a QB that every Chargers fan and San Diegan cannot stand after his belittling of the city and organization on that fateful draft day in 2004.

A friend of mine, who happens to work for the Patriots (but, as he is very classy, I will not hold it against him) had the task of interviewing several players after the game.  You can read their quotes here (it is on the official Patriots’ website, so don’t “freak out” when Bill Belichick’s mug pops up on your screen.)  He interviewed Chris Chambers, Igor Olshansky, and Marcus McNeil, but there are other players’ opinions as well.

That said, I plan on writing throughout the offseason:  news, tidbits, the draft, training camp, etc. (and hopefully there will be a complete absence of any legal altercations.)

I will leave you now with some pictoral Chargers highlights from Foxborough.  Unfortunately 90% of the pictures I found were of the Patriots’ celebrations.  Thanks a lot, media, for the equal coverage.
