Well, the ‘powers that be’ have decided on yet another NFL game to be played in London. Now, mind you, I am half British, but taking an AMERICAN game to another country to try and increase the fan base, to me, is unnecessary. Why take away potential income to this ‘great’ country of ours; you know, the concession folks, for example, who might actually depend upon their job to feed their kids or pay their rent. Just televise it over there. Or better yet, bring back NFL Europe. (They can keep soccer over there too, by the way.)
I hear arguments often about how ‘foreigners’ want to watch the NFL stars (who don’t play for NFL Europe.) To this I say, get DirecTV Sunday Ticket or go to a sports bar. Remember folks, this is the country Americans fought to escape from (2nd grade history class) and now we are willingly taking an American institution over there. Not to mention the fact that they have to differentiate ‘American Football’ from ‘football’ (soccer.) I say when they recognize that this wonderful sport of ours is FOOTBALL, they can practice saying it for, oh 200 more years, then maybe the league would think about giving them the honor of hosting a game.
This year, London will play host to the Chargers and Saints on October 26th. Thankfully, it will be considered a home game for New Orleans, because if the NFL would have taken away one of MY season-ticket-holding-long-time-fan home games, I would be raising HELL.
Apparently, Dean Spanos is thrilled with this prospect. I don’t know, could it be because he is a member of the league’s International Committee?!??
What do you, my dear readers, think??

Game time security? Um, EXCUSE ME, I can’t see the game over your hats!!
