Will the Real Mike Carey Please Stand Up?

So, I’ve just read that Mike Carey will be the Super Bowl referee.  Now, typically, I love him as a referee, especially his distinction between “major face mask” and the lesser-penalized “minor face mask.” Plus, he really has crisp arm movements and jazz hands which would make any dance instructor proud.

Carey is also a San Diego resident.

Unfortunately, he and his crew drew criticism for his calling of the Seattle @ Green Bay Wild Card game.  To quote George Carlin, “something has gone awry.”

Which has me wondering (well, not really seriously wondering) which Mike Carey will show up?  The decent referee or the evil twin who makes bad calls? 

I suppose we’ll have to wait and see.
