The Chargers waived Lorenzo Neal, Marlon McCree and Shane Olivea this week.  Everyone knew McCree was on the outs after Eric Weddle showed why San Diego used the 37th pick overall in the 2007 draft to get him.  Olivea lost his starting job to Jeromy Clary, and Neal will be entering his 15th season should […]

Patriot RB Kevin Faulk was given a misdemeanor summons Tuesday, February 26th for simple marijuana possession in his hometown of Lafayette, LA.  Cops said he was very cooperative when they found the “four marijuana cigarettes” in his possession, while on the way to a concert.  Well, at least he wasn’t caught with the half pound of […]

After months of receiving The Sporting News and Sports Illustrated in my mailbox and having to repeatedly look at the mugs of the Patriots, Eli Manning, and basketball players, it was a pleasant surprise to receive this week’s TSN issue and see Michael Turner gracing the cover (and another one to add to my collection!)
It […]

…Derek Smith!  The ex-49er linebacker has agreed to a 2-year deal with the Chargers.  GM A.J. Smith was ecstatic after Smith’s release by San Francisco, as he hopes to add another degree of experience to San Diego’s young inside linebacker corps; and Smith can do just that - providing depth behind Stephen Cooper and Matt […]

The Chargers are finished pursuing stadium talks with the city of San Diego due to city attorney Mike Aguirre’s apparent  ‘issues.’  Being an election year, some wonder whether talks may resume since Aguirre has some fierce competition running against him.
According to the Chargers’ Mark Fabiani, the answer is a resounding “No.”  They are continuing to […]

First, a few updates.
Antonio Gates is considering having surgery in the offseason on his dislocated toe, the one that had been bothering him for much of the second half of this past season.  He should make his decision by Wednesday.
Philip Rivers’ knee is coming along really well.  A mere 3 days after having his torn right ACL […]

Here’s an interesting little tidbit.
To summarize, Senator Arlen Specter has spoken to Roger Goodell about the whole “Spygate” incident.  Primarily, Specter’s goal was to ascertain why Goodell acted so quickly, destroying tapes and imposing sanctions upon the Patriots.  Apparently, Belichick has been illegally taping teams since 2000, when he became New England’s head coach.
Goodell said […]

In a recent article, which can be read here, Matt Walsh, the ex-Patriot employee who is now known as the cameraman who is alleged to have created countless videotapes of many NFL teams has requested a deal in exchange for some tapes he has in his possession; one of them being the 2002 Super Bowl where […]

Last Monday evening, the Rivers welcomed their fourth child and first son into their brood of (so far) 3 daughters.  Congratulations!!
The timing couldn’t have been better - when Rivers was contemplating early surgery after losing the AFC Championship, his wife was in her last month.  As he didn’t want to be “out of commission” at […]

O.K. folks.  It’s been, what, a week, and I haven’t had the opportunity for yet another post containing any scathing anti-Patriots remarks.  The withdrawal was very difficult, so it wasn’t very difficult for me to find this tidbit of information:
I’d like to quote an article on ESPN.com which says, ahem… “Tomlinson is one of the humblest […]
