Stud Pro Bowler Antonio Cromartie visited El Centro’s Naval Air Facility and took a ride with the Blue Angels earlier this week.

After a short briefing and training session to prepare him for what would happen and how his body will feel, Cromartie donned a flight suit and accompanied Lt. Frank “Walleye” Weisser to his FA-18 Hornet and a 45-minute flight complete with 800 mph speeds and 6 G’s.  Unlike other visitors, Cromartie was pleased to say he did not vomit during the experience.

Remarked Cromartie, ”It was a great experience just to sit there and watch everything that’s going on …I learned a lot. You have a lot of respect for the Blue Angels and all that they do. There’s a lot happening in that plane and they’re in control of it all.”

After the flight he posed for pictures and signed autographs for base personnel.

Now he and Luis Castillo will have notes to share when Castillo returns from his USO tour overseas.
