Philip Rivers is WAY ahead of schedule after his ACL reconstruction nearly 4 months ago.  He was very excited to take the field, don his helmet and jersey, and throw the ball, despite still wearing a heavy brace to further stabilize his recovering knee.

Similarly, LaDainian Tomlinson practiced as well, claiming that he felt good about his decision to rest his MCL-injured knee in the offseason.

Norv Turner said he was pleased with both stars’ performances.

Antonio Gates, who underwent foot surgery, was present, off his crutches and out of the boot; however, he was not ready to run yet.   Additionally, both Nick Hardwick (who also had foot surgery recently) and Eric Parker (who missed all of last season with a foot injury) were present, but not practicing either.  There doesn’t appear to be any concern by the team, with everyone confident that by the start of training camp, everyone will be good to go.

Hopefully all will be healthy come the start of the season. I am eager to see how Eric Parker bounces back after missing the season. If he is like Darren Sproles (after his season ending injury) all Charger fans should be happy.
