The Chargers have finally reached contract terms with draft picks RB Jacob Hester and CB DeJuan Tribble. Both players have agreed to 4-year contracts, leaving just CB Antoine Cason, the Bolts’ 1st round pick, as the only rookie yet to agree with contract terms.
Frankly, I am sick and tired of these rookies holding out for what is obviously a shallow ploy for more money. Come on…isn’t it enough anymore to actually be drafted? And to be a team’s first pick, or any 1st (or 2nd for that matter) round selection is quite an accomplishment. At least it used to be. Unfortunately, these self-centered, arrogant egomaniacs (both rookies and veterans) are refusing to sign contracts (or extensions), not attending practices or training camps, or any other necessary function of a team simply for more money.
In the “real world”, if an employee acted like one of the myriad primadonnas in all professional sports it seems (hello NBA, MLB, NHL, etc.) s/he would be effectively fired. Why not extend the same courtesy to those players actually contributing to a team’s cohesion and get rid of the rest. So what if JaMarcus Russell was the #1 pick in 2007. What did he do for Oakland? Absolutely NOTHING. Get rid of him, then, I say, and let him - and the rest of these juvenile holdouts - pound the proverbial pavement looking for a job and perhaps taking a pay cut. It’s not going to kill them.
On a positive note….. 3 WEEKS UNTIL PRESEASON!!!!

I agree, its about time for owners and GM’s to put their foot down and stop handing out big contracts. If these guys had to make minimum wage $$ to support their family, they appreciate what they do.
