Some tidbits from around the league

Oakland’s JaMarcus Russell sat out of team practice for the second straight day after banging his throwing elbow on teammate Darren McFadden’s helmet.  What’s wrong Russell, are you scared to actually play in the big leagues?

Brett Favre is waiting for Roger Goodell to reinstate him so he can either sign with the Packers or be released by them (and subsequently would be likely to sign with Packers’ rivals Minnesota.)  My thought is that Goodell and Belicheat, er Belichick are playing golf and Favre ought’n't hold his breath.

Ex-Raiders RB LaMont Jordan has signed with the Patriots after being released since no trade could be effected.  Now having Laurence Maroney on my fantasy team really makes no sense whatsoever.

Soon-to-be-ex-Bronco S John Lynch has been given permission by Rat-face Shanahan to ‘explore his options’ as he is unhappy after 15 years in Denver.  It seems the emergence of ex-Charger Marlon McCree has displaced Lynch’s future.

Tennessee has invited veteran QB Byron Leftwich over for a visit.  See what happens when you get on the cover of Madden’s game (ahem, couch, Vince Young)??  Hey, isn’t Favre on the cover this year?

Speaking of the Titans, Pro-Bowl and fantasy kicker extraordinaire Rob Bironas strained his groin in practice Monday.  He is likely to miss preseason.

The Colts’ 3rd round pick in 2007, DT Quinn Pitcock has decided to retire after one season, at age 24.  It seems the plethora of injuries last season scared the young 6′2″, 299 lb player.

Bills’ QB J.P. Losman returned to practice after nursing a swollen thumb on his throwing hand sustained after accidentally striking a teammate’s helmet during a pass; an injury we will now refer to as JaMarcus Syndrome.  If Favre isn’t reinstated, maybe he could tutor players in playing with injuries.  It really doesn’t matter since Trent Edwards was named the starter in Buffalo.

FINALLY, former Redskin WR Art Monk is in the Hall of Fame.  I will never forget my ex-husband’s Art Monk Halloween costume years ago.  He wore a monk robe with a gazillion kids’ paintbrushes attached to it.  Only one customer at his restaurant guessed correctly.
