There were some great individual performances tonight for sure.
Darren Sproles rushed for 102 yds on 13 carries and scored a TD. Vincent Jackson had 3 catches for 84 yds, including a beautiful 59-yd catch. Philip Rivers had a nice outing, 11 of 21, 143 yds. Jacob Hester as well, going airborne near the end of the 4th quarter at a 3rd-and-goal following a pass interference penalty by Seattle to pull within one point; with Billy Volek to Malcom Floyd for a 2-pt conversion to give the Bolts an 18-17 lead near the 2 1/2 minute mark. The very next Seattle drive saw Seneca Wallace toss an INT to Rookie DB Brian Bonner to put the game away. I’m guessing Bonner will make the first cut. Teams have to be whittled to 75 players by August 26th.
TEs Scott Chandler and Antonio Gates, WRs Vincent Jackson, Malcom Floyd, and Kassim Osgood were labeled the ‘intramural basketball team’ by Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworksi (thank goodness we didn’t have to suffer through Tony Kornheiser’s mindless banter as he had hernia surgery - get well soon, but there’s no need to rush back to work!!!) due to their height (the above 5 guys are 6′5″-6′7″ each.) That was, perhaps, one of the only intelligent comments made during the entirety of the game. Oh, that and the depth of the San Diego team.
Each team lost a fumble, there were no INTs, and only 1 sack by Seattle. The Chargers defense allowed only one sack.

It was nice having Ed Hochuli on the field. I do enjoy him and Mike Carey (I mean, as far as referees go.) By the way, if you haven’t yet, check out the hilarious duds and stuff at the “What would Ed Hochuli Do?” website!

And, as usual, the commentators SUCKED! And there were only 2 of them.

Other news:
The Giants are trying to talk Michael Strahan out of retirement due to the season-ending injury to Osi Umenyiora. So much, in fact, that they interrupted Strahan’s vacation in Greece to ask him. How rude. Mathias Kiwanuka is being moved to Umenyiora’s position. Kiwanuka was originally drafted as Strahan’s eventual replacement.
Bengals outspoken WR Chad Johnson has a partially torn labrum and is expected to play this season. He says he doesn’t need any surgery, he’s fine. OK Chad, go play and make it worse. Good call.

Finally:
LT … PLEASE shave!! You look so much better!!
