Uh oh, I’m having a flashback…

…to Week 1 last season when Carolina did the same exact thing…except that time it counted.  Not to say that the Chargers didn’t, overall, look pretty darn good.  The starting offense was spectacular.  Philip Rivers looked just as great as he did last season when he led the league in passer rating.  Vincent Jackson had [...]

Chargers 17, Cardinals 6
Fun game, great seats!  Check out the pics…
The first string looked great (except for Philip Rivers’ 4 sacks by an impressive Cardinals’ defense.)  Rivers managed 5-7, 116 yds. Actually, Billy Volek looked awesome (I’m still asserting that he play in Pittsburgh!) LaDainian Tomlinson and Darren Sproles played much of the first quarter again [...]

Chargers 14, Seahawks 20
First of all, I have to say I was annoyed with the Seattle announcers whom I had to listen to the entire game…come on, guys, read a team roster and get your players right!!
Secondly, the game was quite a yawner.  LaDainian Tomlinson did play for about half of the first quarter and was [...]

Chargers 20, 49ers 17.
Sorry for the delay folks.  Living in AZ now, I had to wait until Saturday NIGHT to actually watch the game, being forced, instead, to suffer through the Cardinals/Broncos game and the unending drama of Matt Leinart, aka Ryan Leaf, Jr.  Since Kurt Warner was named Arizona’s starter, I’m sure there will [...]

There were some great individual performances tonight for sure.
Darren Sproles rushed for 102 yds on 13 carries and scored a TD.  Vincent Jackson had 3 catches for 84 yds, including a beautiful 59-yd catch.  Philip Rivers had a nice outing, 11 of 21, 143 yds.  Jacob Hester as [...]

While this game wasn’t a nailbiter (although, seriously, what preseason games really are?), the Chargers showed some real defensive prowess.
Marc Bulger was intercepted on his first two drives - by CBs Cletus Gordon and Antoine Cason.  Additionally DT Lamar Divens and LB Jyles Tucker each forced a fumble.  LB Tim Dobbins and Tucker were each [...]

Well, it’s official.  Ex-Chargers CB Drayton Florence has signed with Jacksonville for a reported guaranteed $12 million and $6 million per season.  Jaguars’ head coach Jack Del Rio is excited and confident that Florence will bolster the secondary immensely.
Scott Mruczkowski inked a new 3-year deal to stay in San Diego, stating, “After being around guys [...]

Everyone knows the Chargers have a lot of injured stars; hopefully, however, everyone on this list will be A-O.K. to play Sunday in what, so far, is the biggest game of the season for San Diego.  Yes, the playoffs are important, and yes, they’ve done exceptionally well thus far.  But winning the AFC Championship is [...]

“National Media Wanted Colts-Pats; well deal with it”
January 15, 2008
I’m sick of this “marquee game” manure. I’m sick of the TV networks playing the ratings game. I’m sick of the innuendo that comes when NFL officials make calls that seem to favor the celebrities. The NFL is not the NBA. [...]
