There were some great individual performances tonight for sure.
Darren Sproles rushed for 102 yds on 13 carries and scored a TD. Vincent Jackson had 3 catches for 84 yds, including a beautiful 59-yd catch. Philip Rivers had a nice outing, 11 of 21, 143 yds. Jacob Hester as […]

While this game wasn’t a nailbiter (although, seriously, what preseason games really are?), the Chargers showed some real defensive prowess.
Marc Bulger was intercepted on his first two drives - by CBs Cletus Gordon and Antoine Cason. Additionally DT Lamar Divens and LB Jyles Tucker each forced a fumble. LB Tim Dobbins and Tucker were each […]
First of all, I’m very impressed with the running game sans LT thus far. Darren Sproles and rookies Mike Tolbert and Jacob Hester all scored in the first half, illustrating the tremendous depth San Diego has on the ground. The rest of the team looked decent for a first preseason game. The DST was hot, […]
With the 2008 mini camp in the books, the general consensus among the Chargers was that it was a success. The players enjoyed entertaining the fans, with Antonio Cromartie’s INT of Philip Rivers (keep it up Cro….especially against the Colts and Patriots later this season), Chris Chambers tackling of Cromartie, and Vincent Jackson’s long reception […]

Lo and behold, the Chargers did some fancy footwork, trading a 5th round pick in this year’s draft (#160) and a 2nd round pick in the 2009 draft to mortal enemy New England for the chance to select LSU RB Jacob Hester (a distant cousin of Terry Bradshaw, no less) with the 69th pick overall.
Hester is […]

A nice little blurb in the latest issue of Sporting News (3/31/2008) on page 39 discusses how Darren Sproles turned the tragedy of his 2006 season-ending broken leg into phenomenal success last year. In addition to rehabilitation, Sproles practiced fielding punts…amounting to nearly 2,000 punts in the offseason, 4 times per week during practice.
As a […]

Was Marty Schottenheimer coaching this game? Because the playcalling SUCKED, as usual. Where was the reverse? Where was the halfback option? Where were the TDs? Where the *%($ was the DEFENSE?!?
I swear, they looked like they did at the beginning of the season when they sucked. What happened? How much did they pay you Norv […]

Here it is! The big game (so far anyway.)
Interestingly, both games are a rematch from Week 2 this season. Green Bay beat New York 35-13, and New England beat San Diego 38-14.
I was watching Gameday on NFL Network this morning. Trent Dilfer was illustrating the injury to Philip Rivers’ knee and how it may affect his […]
Don’t ask me why, but my dear husband turned on the NFL Network while we were eating dinner and guess what was on?
The AFC Divisional Playoff game from last season: New England at San Diego. Many, if not all, of you reading this should remember that dreadful somber day in Chargers’ history (unless you’re an […]
