Stud TE Antonio Gates, who started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform List passed his physical on Tuesday and was able to participate in team drills. While not likely to play in either of the Chargers 2 remaining preseason games, he should (hopefully) be ready to go by week 1 vs. Carolina on […]
Stepping in for the minorly-injured Marcus McNeill against the Cowboys last weekend, newly-signed 10-year veteran OT L.J. Shelton proved a great acquisition to an already talent-laden Chargers team. McNeill’s “stinger” is considered minor, and Shelton proved his worth protecting Philip Rivers’ blind side.
Also sidelined for the preseason thus far are DE Luis Castillo (back) and CB […]
First of all, I’m very impressed with the running game sans LT thus far. Darren Sproles and rookies Mike Tolbert and Jacob Hester all scored in the first half, illustrating the tremendous depth San Diego has on the ground. The rest of the team looked decent for a first preseason game. The DST was hot, […]
Stud DE Luis Castillo (for questions about the Hulk comment, READ MY BLOG a bit more regularly…OK??) signed a 7-year contract extension keeping him a Charger through the 2014 season, as his original rookie contract was set to expire after the 2009 season.
Apparently A.J. Smith continues to impress the world with his GM capabilities, ensuring […]

Allow me to preface this entry by stating that I think Luis Castillo is one HOT guy, as well as an extremely nice person.
That said……
We saw ‘The Incredible Hulk’ today and I have to say that the Hulk looks an awful lot like Luis Castillo. A decent movie as well.
You make the call…

Post USO-Tour Luis Castillo and friends returned from Afghanistan earlier this week; however, Castillo was more than eager to reiterate the days’ events during his memorable trip. Check it out here.
All in all, the trip itself appeared to be a success for both NFL visitors and U.S. soliders abroad.
Free Agency News:
The Arizona Cardinals and Pro Bowl […]

San Diego’s own Luis Castillo is among the trio of NFL starters (along with Chicago’s Tommie Harris and Carolina’s Mike Rucker) who, along with NFL Director of Community Affairs David Krichavsky and Sports Illustrated/NBC journalist Peter King, has been on a weeklong tour of U.S. military bases in Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan. For 40 years, the NFL has been […]

Was Marty Schottenheimer coaching this game? Because the playcalling SUCKED, as usual. Where was the reverse? Where was the halfback option? Where were the TDs? Where the *%($ was the DEFENSE?!?
I swear, they looked like they did at the beginning of the season when they sucked. What happened? How much did they pay you Norv […]

Here it is! The big game (so far anyway.)
Interestingly, both games are a rematch from Week 2 this season. Green Bay beat New York 35-13, and New England beat San Diego 38-14.
I was watching Gameday on NFL Network this morning. Trent Dilfer was illustrating the injury to Philip Rivers’ knee and how it may affect his […]

(Wow, I’m impressed with myself over that title!)
Shawne Merriman had missed practice earlier this week due to an illness. Flu-like symptoms, he asserts he caught from Antonio Cromartie (after laughing at Cro for being sick….tsk tsk.) Luckily they are both feeling better, and Merriman along with Norv Turner, Billy Volek, Shaun Phillips, Stephen Cooper, Luis […]
